Seat Belt Saftey- Honorable Mention

A woman from Canfield Ohio had a problem.

She needed to get somewhere but her car door didn't shut. In the true can do American spirit she did not let a little thing that that stop her. She had a very simple solution.

Did she tie the door shut with a necktie? No. did she go to the Dollar Store and buy a length of rope or duct tape to tie the door shut? Nope. Maybe use some chewing gun to keep the door shut? Ahh, no. Wait it was near 0 degrees F, maybe she wet the door down to freeze it shut, that would work? Well, no.

She had a much better plan, and best of all it was free!! she would drive down the road holding her door shut.

Great idea, not only would it not cost her anything but she would not have the door frozen shut when she got to her destination. Too bad she used all of her brain power to think up this wonderful idea and didn't have any left to use on putting her seat belt on.

As most non-Darwin worthy people can predict she did not quite make it to her destination. Her plan failed when she fell out of the car. Unfortunately for the gene pool she missed rolling under her car and luckily for the rest of the world her car only hit the nearest tree.

When the owner of the tree came out to see what the noise was, our hero was stumbling around the yard dazed. She used her remaining brain power to decide to get in the car and try again.

This time she made it home but as she had donated here front bumper and it's license plate to the tree police payed her a visit to return her car part and file charges.

She was injured (obviously) and was taken to the hospital, so while the gene pool was not changed today, she will have another opportunity to try again at a later date.

We don't currently know the name of this Darwin Award failure but we will when she has to explain her attempt to the judge at the latest

Definitely Keep: Honorable Mention
This is different enough from all our other idiot-with-a-car stories that I'm willing to accept it as an HM. Thanks! For the mods, here's the full URL to the article: https://www.wkbn.com/news/local-news/deputies-woman-falls-out-of-faulty-vehicle-leading-to-canfield-twp-crash/
