Shipping Policy

We send orders within two business days from our professional fulfillment center in California, staffed by cheerful and competent people who love to pack and ship. Books sent by USPS Media Mail, other items sent by USPS first class or priority mail.

Return Policy

Any item that does not meet your satisfaction will be replaced or your money refunded. There is no time limit, restocking fee, or any requirement except that you are not satisfied with the item. My policy is, the customer is always right.

The Shopping Cart

eCartSoft is the current shopping cart provider, but I have hired a web developer to research a better option, hosted on the DarwinAwards.com server.

Rant on eCartSoft

eCartSoft shipping calculations are difficult to configure, partly because ackage weight is defined "behind the scenes." Sometimes eCartSoft sends the shipping charge to Google Checkout in both the shipping and the handling fields, so customers are double-charged. (I refund overcharges.) The templates are poorly written and therefore difficult to change. The eCartSoft server is often slow or completely unresponsive. I want to offer MediaMail for book-only orders shipped in the US, I want to add a per-order handling charge, I want to offer free shipping for orders over $50, and so forth. Mostly, I want a system that runs smoothly with little oversight.
