Construction engineer Student

A 24-year-old Construction-engineering-student had built a cellar about three meters deep in his garden. He did this together with a friend to use it as a wine cellar but without supporting the soil. When the young man was working in the Underground on Friday afternoon, the cellar collapsed, so that he was buried under a several-meter-high layer of earth and boulders.

Numerous forces arrived and tried to save the 24-year-old.

After about three hours, the young man was finally found. For him, however, any help came too late; he could only be recovered dead. (Translated from german and shortened a bit)

additionial source, a little bit more boulevard-style, so they had to include the fact that he was an engineering-Student: https://www.facebook.com/nsn.rostock/posts/1638421886253047

Sorry, but I don't see anything here that really stands out enough to be a Darwin; people digging holes for various reasons and having them fall on them due to lack of support has been going on for a long time. Other moderators may differ. Thanks anyway.

After reading the articles and seeing the photos in the facebook link I'm willing to consider this for a DA. If this guy truly was an engineering student then he should have known better. Thanks!

As Candi said, this doesn't really stand out. There's a D.A where the deceased dug under his house in hopes to find gold he envisioned in a dream but instead, the tunnels collapsed and he died. http://darwinawards.com/darwin/darwin2009-01.html. Thank you for your submission though.

The detail that makes this a DA for me is the fact he was an Construction Engineering Student... It needs to be written up fully though
