Hunter Killed by Deer Believed Dead

https://www.yahoo.com/gma/arkansas-hunter-dies-being-attacked-deer-thought-dead-171244184--abc-news-topstories.html

This occurred about a week ago. The hunter came out of his tree stand to check on the deer. The deer was not dead and gored the guy with his antlers.

Hunters know the dangers they face. *That* said, from the article it sounds like this guy upped the Darwin ante. Since the deer was well enough to flee the scene after clobbering the guy, it's reasonable to assume the hunter didn't even wait a few moments to make sure the animal was down and not getting back up before approaching the creature, AND the hunter left his gun by the deer stand -you don't do this when hunting, *because* the critter might need more shots to stay down! (Or you might have to put it out of its misery.) Bonehead here turned what could have been a basic accident into a very stupid event through his choices. Thanks, Mary!
