Go-Kart Bumpers
(8 August 2019, Florida) A Florida man died in a Go-Kart crash at Pinellas Park after he snuck into a raceway at night. Mr. Outlaw (his real name), wasn’t wearing a helmet when he crashed at around 50 - 70 kilometres and hour into a barrier.
A couple of weeks before the incident, Outlaw broke into the same raceway; “Showtime Speedway” to have an illegal joyride on the Go-Karts. For legal and safety concerns, Mr. Yoho promptly booted the man out, hoping to never spot him on his property again.
But our outlaw wasn’t going to stop at that. After a few weeks from the original incident, the man and his friend broke into the closed Showtime Speedway at 10PM, excited for a race in the dark. Full speed ahead!
Unfortunately, the criminal couldn’t see the clear danger in what he was doing. To put it in a simple mathematical equation, Pitch Black + No Helmet + Speed x 70kmph = death. After a few loops around the raceway, Outlaw lost control of his vehicle and Go-Karts switched to Bumper Cars as he slammed into the guard rails.
Officers sent to the scene couldn’t put Outlaw together again, and he died at the hospital. As for the accomplice? Mr. Yoho has decided not to press charges, as he claims his lesson has already been learnt - the hard way.
