From Gallons to Gallows

(22 October 2017, Brazil) On an October morning, Jaguaquara residents were shocked to find the cold body of their local gas station cashier kneeled down around a gallon of water. Police were immediately called to the scene, to find a 49-year-old man collapsed over a 20-litre water bucket with his head dunked into the gallon.

Police worked out that Raildo “Moustache” Santos had been having a wild night of drinking ‘Corote’ , an alcoholic beverage. Now, at this point, most irresponsible adults might’ve been thinking DUI. However, this unique Darwin contender was thinking DIY! In a quick few seconds of preparation, Mr. Moustache was ready to create his very own artificial marine ocean. Yeah, he seriously did. He had seaweed, glue and a gallon of water, which was all he needed to start getting to work! Well, that lasted a few seconds.

Raildo, too drunk to think about what he was doing or how to stand up properly, tripped and fell “head over heels” into the gallon of water. As he was too wasted to simply move his head up and too deep in the water to be heard if he was screaming, Raildo drowned.

Sadly, Raildo was a well known man in his village. As he worked in a gas station, “Moustache” was a popular fellow with plenty of friends. However, none of that can make up for the stupidity portrayed by him that Sunday night, I suppose his genes simply were built to remove him from the pool in a spectacular way, a bucket.
