Charles Darwin with a purple swarm around his head, contemplating the twist of fate that natural selection sidestepped these still-living honorable mentions.

2014 Honorable Mention

Microwave Magnetron Fun Fun Fun!
2014 Honorable Mention
Confirmed True by Darwin

An Honorable Mention to an inventor just crazy enough to cheerfully disassemble a microwave oven, remove its magnetron and proceed to spray 2GHz RF maniacally about the countryside, eventually exploding a radio playing Really Bad Music—because "It had to die."

800 Watts, One Bright Light.

Our suspect seems to know what he is up to, until he monitors the unnerving extent of lingering magnetron irradiation surrounding his house. Serious At-Risk behavior! Although admittedly it is difficult to deide if we are witnessing genius or stupidity.
