This happened in Parma, Italy, in the month of April 2015. I put a copy of the translation of the newspaper articles appeared in the following days.

Obviously, an entire city, remained completely in the dark (including hospitals and industries), expressed the hope that the man would die!

All Parma and the province remained in the dark for half an hour for a blackout that affected both households and those industrial. The cause of the power outage would have been an attempted theft of copper cables within the power of Terna Vigheffio: the alleged lard, electrocuted by a high voltage discharge, it is now recovering in the hospital Maggiore di Parma serious condition. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed the identity, would introduced the premises to steal electric cables, but probably touched live equipment getting a discharge. The incident has knocked the entire supply network to 132 thousand volts serving Emilian city, putting out of operation simultaneously also the other four primary transformer stations supplying utilities Parma managed by Iren.

He dead around 15 after a week of agony nineteen parmesan was struck in the power plant of Vigheffio (Parma) Wednesday, April 30. The young man had touched one of the 132 thousand volt cables that supply the central and had suffered injuries and burns all over the body.

The conditions of the nineteen were immediately appeared so desperate that the doctors they had immediately placed the hospital in intensive care. Today then a further deterioration and death. The incident last Wednesday had caused a blackout across the city and in the province. On how successful the police are still investigating. The hypothesis of a copper theft gone wrong seemed initially more concrete, but now they are also evaluating other tracks, including simple stunt.
