A man has been charged after allegedly filming himself doing a handstand on a moving car with no-one at the wheel.

Police were called to an industrial area in Burleigh Heads on the Gold Coast by bystanders who saw the stunt being performed in February.

Ryuichi Hozaki, 30, allegedly uploaded a video of the stunt to YouTube, and a handstand appreciation group's website.

He has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and will face Southport Magistrates Court on July 28.

If found guilty Hozaki could be jailed for up to three years.

Reader comment: Well, there's an at-risk survivor if ever I saw one. We needn't ask what he was thinking, because clearly he wasn't.

If the police hadn't acted, we'd probably have a Darwin by now (unless he had bread already).
