(1992, Leganés, Spain) Bull runs are held every summer on several villages around Spain, Portugal and southern France. J. R. Calleja was 24 in 1992, when he run the bulls in his home town of Leganés. He was horned four times in his right thigh, right testicle, right forearm and head. He was promptly carried to a mobile clinic where he lost said right testicle. So here we have a young man who looses one testicle taking part on a centuries old festival. That's not even enough to half qualify him for a Darwin Award. Unless you are fully aware of the whole circumstances surrounding this case. At this point our subject has already removed himself from the gene pool; that right testicle was his only remaining one.

And where is sheer stupidity here? Well, you guessed right; his left testicle was lost just one year before, while running the bulls at Moraleja de Enmedio.

Note: I remember this story from when it happened 20 years ago. I've been searching for a good full reference but could only find a couple press notes that half confirm it: http://elpais.com/diario/1991/09/03/madrid/683897059_850215.html http://elpais.com/diario/1992/08/19/madrid/714223465_850215.html

Definitely Keep: Honorable Mention
Given that Mr. Calleja didn't learn his lesson the first time and received a second testicle-removing lesson a year later I think he's worthy of consideration. Thanks, Diego!
