Man hurt flying kite from a car

A 22-year-old man man was critically injured in Moreno Valley when he fell off the trunk of a car while attempting to fly a kite from the moving vehicle. The incident occurred at 11:02 p.m. Sunday, March 24, on Grenville Avenue at Elder Avenue, according to a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department news release. The white Nissan Maxima was moving slowly when the man fell off and struck his head on the pavement. Paramedics treated him at the scene and he was taken to an area hospital, where he was in critical condition. The driver of the car was not injured and alcohol was not involved, the release said.
