Gun Fishing

Well, this is fun at-risk survivor. Our latest nominee decided he wanted to have a little salmon for dinner. Being either impatient or broke (or possibly both) he decided not to buy it or fish for it - well, at least not with typical gear. Instead, he brings a .22 caliber rifle to the river reand attempts to shoot the spawning salmon from close range. He didn't factor in the shallowness of the water, because a round richocheted back up and hit him in the head. While this didn't kill our intrepid adventurer, he will likely lose sight in one eye. In addition to being stupid and illegal, our hero managed to miss the fish and hit himself . . . with a scope on his rifle.

Although gun-related stories are exceptionally commonplace I think this one is cartooney enough to accept, especially when you see the photos in the linked article of the rifle in question. The image of this guy standing knee deep in a river and looking through the scope of the rifle at a fish right at his feet makes me chuckle. Thanks, Mick!
