Nick Bowes, 18 years old, kills himself with a kitchen knife while trying to remove a court-authorised electronic tag, so he could leave his house to attend a friend's 21st birthday party. The knife slipped during his attempt to saw through the tags security band and plunged into his chest.

While we've heard lots of stories involving idiocy with knives and other sharp objects I don't think we've had one quite like this - attempting to cut something off of your body that not only isn't meant to be cut off but would likely notify the police immediately if you succeeded.
