Mind you, it is possible to keep an empty cargo car moving by pushing, but if that guy got impatient, it must have been a longer train. The very idea to single-handedly make a difference defies description, not to mention that if a train moves slowly, there is usually a reason for it. I have once been a student of railway technology and still keep an eye open for railway incidents, but I think I never came across something like that.

While grade crossing incidents are woefully common, I am always looking out for new variations on a tired old theme! PUSHING A TRAIN??? Of ALL the grade crossing incidents we've received (hundreds), this is the first time I've heard of someone actually trying to push a train! What a useless gesture!
