THIS IS one thief who won't be asking for shock probation. A man who admitted he was trying to steal copper wire as scrap was shocked and plunged 20 feet from a utility pole last Thursday.

Barry V. Jordan, 32, suffered burns to his feet and hands when the pole caught fire in an area owned by Port Columbus. No criminal charges are planned since nothing was actually stolen, spokesman David Whitaker said. Still, punishment for Jordan was swift, though tragic.
