Bob had a unique habbit shouting his friends eleborate and often expensive gifts all over the place. unfortunatly for bobby he also had a habbit of getting into trouble of silly stunts.

this particular event occured in a hotel in Sydney Australia. Bobby decided to book us into a psh hotel with a old victorian era look and feel to it. the hotel was nice but somewhat out of the city and as such only had a meger amount of visitors and staff on. the crowning feature of this hotel though was its staircase leading in a straight line up all six stories with its unbroken wooden rails.

now as some may have guessed by now. bobby was one of the people growing up on old silly shows and decided he could mimic the scene in mary poppins by skidding along the railing. bobby jumped on from the top but due to the age of the wood and its rough texture skidded to a stopp on the 4th floor (luckily) falling onto the staircase and banging himself up.

not content on a quick laugh and a few injuries Bobby decided to go for broke getting a darwin award. he left the hotel for a local supermarket to pick up what he told us where "supplies". we assumed he wanted beer and decided we were to tired to drink and went to bed.

next morning we discovered the broken body of poor Bobby and the full details of the night before where made clear. after hours when all the lights were off and no one was around Bobby had obviously gone and brought several cans of polish and given the rail a very good polish. once he was happy with it he mounted the rail and went sliding down. now we have 2 obvious issues. 1 while the rail was fully continues it did have a rather solid end piece at the bottom and 2, a human reaches terminal velocity rather fast when falling downwards. needless to say unable to control himself Bobby slide full throttle down the rail until he smacked into the end piece where his body tried to twist around and snap his neck and spine.

the funny parts of the story? when the coroner arrived his first line was "wait your saying he did this WITHOUT alcohol in his body?" apperantly the hotel in question has multiple injuries a year from people doing a simular stunt and are considering removing the staircase for something more modern and safer. RIP dear Bobby, may your death serve as a warning to never be stupid without a friend to watch.

This sounds like the sort of thing that might have gotten written up in the newspaper given the stupidity involved. If it did make the news in any way please let us know and this could very well end up a full fledged Darwin instead of just a personal account. Thanks, Will!
