Erinn Hicks, a sophomore and resident assistant, was taken of life support at University Medical Center Brackenridge Hospital Tuesday afternoon.

According to the university, Hicks. 24, and two other students were in Laurel Hall dormitory. At 2 a.m., they decided to leave the room through the window.

The room is on the first floor, but is elevated because of a basement underneath the room.

Officials said a male went through the window first and the two females followed.

Both women hit the ground and rolled down a hill, but the man was able to call for help.

TSU police are investigating the situation. They don't know why the students left the room through the window.

The other injured woman, 19, is being treated at UMC Brackenridge.

Texas State University is located in San Marcos, Texas and is one of the biggest universities in the state.
