One day she was "upstiars" as we refered to her bed in order to make us feel like we had a little more room. She was doing her homework, and dropped her pencil over the roll bar.

She decided that it was not worth getting down for and instead attempted to grab it in midair. She did not account for her center of gravity and fell off the loft. She basically took a nose dive on to a plastic storage crate that I used for my textbooks.

She complained about neck pain and dizzyness for the next couple of days until the R.A. made me take her to the E.R. It turns out that she broke her C-2 vertebrae and was just a stroke of luck away from killing herself. She wore a neck brace for the next 8 months; but did survive.
