Man electrocuted in attempt to stea

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - An Indianapolis man died Thursday morning as he attempted to steal copper wiring atop a building, police said from the scene.

An accomplice told police that 31-year-old Jeff Reynolds was on top of a building in the Circle City Industrial Complex near 1300 Massachusetts Avenue where he was trying to take wire out of a transformer bank.

IMPD public information officer Kendale Adams reports the accomplice was on the ground when he saw a “huge blue flash” and called a friend who called 911.

Paramedics and firefighters found Reynolds dead at the scene.

Indianapolis Power and Light workers report the transformer bank carries 24,000 volts.
