As a transportation troop in the military, I've heard some stories that I've just had to shake my head at. One such story is something that would occur when some of the troops were bored while preforming convoy duty in Iraq. It's that act of getting out of a nice safe up-armored tractor and climbing onto the flatbed trailer when they were "dead-heading," or riding without a load. They would ride for a couple of mile before climbing back into the cab. Fortunately, no one ever fell off to the best of my knowledge. Though reports of these 'At-risk survivors' made it back to the command in Kuwait, resulting in the Colonels and Sergeant Majors to hand out hefty punishments to anyone caught preforming this insane stunt on the most dangerous road in the world, Main Supply Route (MSR) Tampa.
