When a guy walls himself into a cellar, you have to question his handyman skills – it seems this handyman was not so handy after all. Here is one DIY project that totally backfired for this man.

A German man thought he would try to save on heating bills this winter and decided to seal off his cellar at his home in Grumperda, near Leipzig, by building a brick wall. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until he sealed off the final brick that the man realized he was on the wrong side of the wall. Oops!

According to The Telegraph, the 64-year-old retiree was trapped in his man-made dungeon for two days before deciding to use a jackhammer on the wall leading to his neighbor's home.

Oh – and he had also been feuding with his neighbors for months, and when the man finally emerged - through the hole into his neighbors’ home - he was met by police who are now considering charging him with disturbance of the peace.

This is just one of those stories that is too crazy to be anything other than true.

The man told police he only became aware of the mistake once his handiwork was complete, which police described as "pretty stupid" in a statement, according to MSNBC.

Well, I thought this only happened to the likes of the Three Stooges or Laurel and Hardy, but for cryin' out loud, SOMEONE out there actually did it! Had it not been for the jackhammer, this fellow would have surely been the "skeleton in the closet"! I can hardly fathom the stupidity here...!
