Darwin/Wendy says, "What the what? Without context, it's hard to assign blame for this literal backfire. Thanks for the submission, but it's unclear what is going on. To me, it looks like a training video with raw recruits. Yes, if this incident was perpetrated by a trained miltary man, it would be sufficiently foolhardy to merit a Darwin Award, but intuition tells me the men are not yet fully trained on the equipment. It's a mistake by a newbie. That being said, yet can I see that it's an important cautionary tale, so thank you for submitting it to the Slush pile."
ORIGINAL SUBMISSION:

I was in the royal artillery for 3 years and never saw anyone this stupid. I don't know what happened to him or if he wants a darwin but, good effort!! Honorable mention maybe or video of the week.

While this could use a write-up (feel free to do one and resubmit it), the video pretty much says it all, and you as a former artilleryman would know that standing right behind a cannon is stupid. It probably didn't kill him, but it sure made his battery look bad! :-)
