I think we're all pretty aware that an electricity substation that supplies power to a substantial part of a town probably has electricity in it.

But apparently this obvious fact escaped the moronic Johnathan Ehlert who decided to cash in on the scrap value of the metal contained in a substation in Ipswich (England).

According to police officers who attended the incident, he'd been lucky enough to get away with dismantling several pieces of equipment before having a go at some kit that had many thousands of volts flowing through it. The blackened remains he left behind testified to his lack of a basic understanding of electrical engineering.

Ehlert may possibly not properly qualify for a Darwin, as having already procreated he's left some of his defective genes behind. But at least he won't leave any more.
