Man sets off on his boat to sail round the coast of the UK. Nothing wrong so far. Coast of UK has - worlds busiest shipping channel, 2nd highest tides in the world, sand banks, numerous rocks, islands, schoals, oil rigs, whirlpools, rip tides - You would take all precautions right?

So we set off with a road map (the clue is in the title there). Who needs any other of that posh navigation stuff, compasses are for fools; after all if you keep the coast on the right what could go wrong? After circling the Isle of Sheppey for 3 days he ran out of fuel. After running out of fuel he ran aground. After running aground he was rescued by the RNLI. After rescuing him the RNLI had "a bit of a chat". After being warned about his stupidity he set off again!!!

Watch this space, I feel a Drwin Award in the making.

After reading the referenced article I'm more than willing to vote for an HM for this dolt. He had this boat less than a day, decided to sail it all the way around the UK using only a road map, didn't realize how much fuel it would take, and ultimately ran out of fuel circling a small island? Either this guy will end up with a full DA or he'll inadvertently find himself sailing into San Francisco Bay in six months. Thanks, Fiona!
