recently put through a coroners enquiry (Jan 16th 2010) the story refers to a man, somewhat innebriated, who in the summer of 2009 decided that in a bid to make some money in a recession, he would travel to a disused Derbyshire quarry at 2 am and attempt to have a way a section of powerline from atop a 30 foot pole. Unbeknown to our plucky cable guy, the power line was still carrying 11000 volts. He was found the following day by a family member,scorched at the bottom of the 10m high pole, still with hacksaw in hand. Time of death was put as 2:20 am as a power surge in the area was repored by the local electrical generating authority.
