Racine man dies while climbing at work BY JOURNAL TIMES STAFF Monday, April 21, 2008 3:50 PM CDT

MILWAUKEE — A 25-year-old Racine man who was an avid rock climber died last week when attempting to use a harness and strap to climb at his place of work.

According to an investigator from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office, Christopher Angus became tangled in the straps and choked to death.

Although the office has not determined an official cause of death, they are leaning toward accidental.

Reports said on Thursday, Angus was done for the day at work, at 4041 N. 27th St. in Milwaukee. He was waiting for a co-worker he carpools with to finish work.

Angus went to an area of the shop that wasn’t being used and harnessed himself into a strap. He looped the strap around a beam, about 17 feet up in the air. The medical examiner investigator said Angus was trying to scale up the beam when he became tangled.

Sounds like he managed to get himself into one really tricky situation, and that's not an easy thing to do. Thanks.
