ORIGINAL SUBMISSION:

...especially the one used in cables. The scrap metal dealers do not ask too many questions and pay in cash.

A good supply of old and even new cables can be found in elevator shafts. This particular shaft was located in an old, empty, grainery near Zatec, about 40 miles north-west from Prague.

The cable was, however, tightly fastened and the other end of it was disappearing somewhere in the shadows near the top of the shaft. After a substantial effort with the hacksaw the man finally cut the one end loose. At than instant, the counterbalance started to move silently down and accelerating until it reached the bottom of the shaft resulting in an instant death with a proud nomination for the Darwin Award.

I was able to find a couple Czech to English translators, and although they don't work very well the translation of this story seems to touch on the highlights of this submission. Given that, I think this certainly qualifies for a DA. It's a pretty darned original twist on all the copper theft stories we've been getting recently. Thanks, Knize!

Boy, talk about dumb! Usually, gags like this are reserved for the stupidest of cartoon characters (even stupider than Goofy)! And yes, it certainly is different from the usual copper wire theft incidents we get! Thanks, Knize!
