Injured suspect caught after attack

Federal Way - A man who police say attacked a woman was caught after he leaped from his moving van to catch his fleeing victim and was run over by his own van.

The 43-year-old man, a Level 1 sex offerder, was under guard at Harborview Medical Center yesterday, where he was being treated for a broken ankle, the King County Sheriff's Office reported.

The woman, an Oregon college student, told police she was in Tacoma Saturday night waiting for a bus to Sea-Tac Airport when she accepted a ride from the stranger, who warned her that she was in a dangerous area.

The man, driving a Dodge Caravan, pulled over in the 34800 block of 29th Avenue South, hit the woman, tried to tear her clothes off and threatened to kill her if she resisted.

The van began to roll and the woman escaped. The man jumped out after her, and the van rolled over his leg. The woman ran to a nearby house where residents called 911.

The man was convicted in 1994 in California for a lewd act with a child under 14.

Definitely Toss: No Self-Selection
Although he broke his ankle he never was in any real danger of removing himself from the gene pool. This is probably more appropriate for dumbcrooks.com than here. Thanks just the same, Carldine.

Neutral: Honorable Mention
I remember this one (I am local to the story) and I know I laughed when I first read it. I vote Honorable Mention and thank you Carldine.

Definitely Keep: Honorable Mention
Since Chip heard this one on the news, I will take his word for it. This bozo got what he deserved! Thanks, Carldine!

If Chip recalled hearing about it and laughing, I'll go for it. Besides, the "alleged perp" certainly could have been killed when his van ran over him.
