Crocodile Indeed

2007 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

A 'construction worker', (what else), driving home blind drunk while on holiday in North Queensland, decides to go for a midnight swim on the beach and dives in, headbutting a crocodile which is minding its own business in the shallows. It quite sensibly bites this fool on ther head, but not fatally due to him being lucky enough to have selected a small one. The best bit is he continues on home and wakes up in the morning with a hangover requiring 40 stitches. Where are the big ones when you need them?

The reference url is truncated. The last part should be "/2007/10/19/1192301030909.html". During my recent trip to that area I spent some time exploring between Cairns & Daintree, which is close to where this incident happened. Seeing signs along the water warning you that crocs could lunge out of the water and grab you even if you were a meter or two away from the edge was enough to keep me from swimming in those parts. This guy sure is darned lucky he ran into junior and not mom or dad. Thanks, Greg!

Gadzooks, whatever he was drinking sure did the job! He IS lucky to have lived! Only in Austrailia, I suppose! Thanks, Doc!
