Stormwater Surfer

A 25 Year old Brisbane man has gone awfully close to sucking himself down the drain-hole of the evolutionary gene pool…Literally

After sudden flash floods turned a Brisbane street into a raging river, the man decided it would be fun to try catch a wave on his surfboard. All was going well until his foot got stuck in a storm water drain and was sucked down.

After a bumpy and winding 3km ride he popped out in a creek.

He was treated in hospital for possible broken bones and wounds to his head, arms and legs. The young kid who found him had the obvious advice for those thinking of following the surfer's adventure.

"Never surf on a flooded street"

I DO like this one. A classic example of how incredibly stupid humans can be. I'll vote for an HM on this one. There must be a name for the condition, "total absence of the sense of danger"

(Graham, check your moderator panel. You voted to toss this one! :-) Anyway, I like it too! Lots of fools surf during storm conditions, but NOT in city streets! A flash flooded city street is unpredictable. A mile and a half later, the sewer spat him out! Cool visual! Hopefully, this jamoke learned something, though I seriously doubt it! I'll go HM on this as well.

Good story! We have lots of street flooding in my home town (Houston), and occasionally someone is sucked into a storm drain, but I've never heard of a "Storm Water Surfer."
