Darwin notes, "This is certainly a Darwin moment, but it somehow lacks that special something to propel it into the archive. I think I've seen this type of "surfing" mishap several times before. Oh yes, here's Sand Surfing and the related Car Surfing stories. Thank you for the nomination, Evelin. It's not often that we have an Estonian submission!"
A 19-years old young man named Martin and his friend 21-years old Henri decided to take the sleigh riding thrills up a notch and tied an ordinary plastic sleigh with a rope behind Henri's car (an Audi 80) and started speeding on the road. Martin lost his life, when his sleigh plummeted into a concrete post when there was a curve in the road. He died on spot.

I was going to go neutral on this, but I realized it was a plastic sleigh, read: some sort of toy with little or no steering capability. This must have been one spectacular end worthy of a movie chase scene. I concur that the level of stupidity is grand enough for award consideration! Thanks, Evelin!
