Woman falls 36 floors to her death August 21, 2006 04:45pm Article from: AAP Australia An Adelaide woman holidaying on the Gold Coast plunged to her death from the 36th floor of an apartment building in a freak accident as she cleaned her balcony.

A maintenance worker for the Aquarius apartments in Old Burleigh Road at Surfers Paradise found the woman's body about 5am (AEST) today, police said.

Early investigations indicated the 40-year-old woman was standing on a chair on the balcony cleaning the ceiling with a mop when she overbalanced and fell.

Police believed the accident happened overnight and there were no suspicious circumstances.

A police spokesman said the woman and her partner, who was asleep at the time of the accident, were holidaying in the high-rise unit they owned.

"The woman had been complaining to her partner earlier in the day about water damage causing paint bubbling on the balcony ceiling," the police spokesman said.

"She was going to do something about it. It's a very, very sad accident."

Police said the mop was found beside the woman's body.

Thanks for the submission, Aaron. While I admit I don't like this story (for personal reasons), I'm sending it on to Darwin.

Yep, I went positive on this story from my first encounter. New information is certainly of value since it does seem to be under serious consideration.
