Definitely Toss: Lacks Excellence
I could have really liked this one! Unfortunately, there is no corroborating news link, and the write-up is very short on detail. Nevertheless, I really like the visual here. Karen, if you find a more detailed version of this, do please submit it...and don't forget to add the link as well! :-) Thanks!

Neutral: Darwin Award
I always like the essential irony of someone threatening another winding up dead by their own hand. So, even without additional information, I'll vote to keep this. Thanks, Karen!

I found the article in our database. It is a real, bonefide DA, reported (as stated) in the Fast News section of Australian paper, The Courier-Mail on 15th June 2006. It was also reported in another Australian paper, the Geelong Advertiser, and the New Zealand Herald.

Darwin Awards II: Unnatural Selection

Hardback. 240 pages. Autographed.
$15
A fresh collection of magnificent misadventures! Lust, Vanity, Gluttony, Greed, Sloth, Envy, and Wrath extract an evolutionary toll on the wicked. Salute the owner of an equipment training school who demonstrates the dangers of driving a forklift by failing to survive the filming of his own safety video. Witness the man who becomes a victim of his own strange passion for jumping into rivers. Heed the honest bricklayer who loses a battle of wits with 300 pounds of tools.

This book includes more History of the Awards, Gordon's Law, and 10 discussions of evolution, including speciation and the role of verbal memes in civilization.
