Summary: Michael George, of Norton Shores Michigan, was wearing a homemade "Ghillie-type" camouflage suit was made out of burlap materials that were labeled as highly flammable. Scent-Lok Technologies are the local favorite camouflage; made in an adjacent township, they absorb human odors. Mr. George was apparently of the opinion that wild game are attracted to human odors, and was lighting his pipe when his camouflage caught fire. He had burns over 90% of his body when he died at the hospital.

The funeral for a hunter who died after being burned in a hunting accident will be Wednesday.
ichael E. George, 38, of Norton Shores died Saturday after his homemade Ghillie-type camouflage suit caught fire while he was hunting Friday. George suffered second- and third-degree burns over 90 percent of his body after he accidentally ignited his clothing while trying to light his pipe, police said. Submitted on 11/25/2003
