Flipping Out
2003 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance
id like to nominate the woman that flipped her car in front of us, narrowly missing us on a busy highway. her car became airborne, hit a power pole halfway up- breaking it - her car slid down and landed in 2 feet of water.
we stopped and approached the ditch the car had landed in. I am a fire and rescue officer and assessed the situation and would not allow any else down to the vehicle due to the live wires. she was conscious. i decided to risk it- and approached the vehicle when she told me was going to get out of the vehicle- then she promptly opened her car door- picked up her cell phone and proceeded to phone her friends telling them about the amazing accident she just had and she was looking at the live wires dangling above her head, she then remonstrated me for interupting her conversation when i insist she leave the vehicle.
Oh and her accident was caused because she hadnt had time to take her insulin that day, but had found ti,e to eat an entire bag of candy.
She is not a darwin candidate quite yet, but am sure she will make your pages very soon. Submitted on 06/19/2003
