Is Electricity Dangerous

2003 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

y grandmother, bless her, got the idea in her head that electricity is dangerous. She became afraid of touching plugs, sockets and cables.

She wanted to clean out the toaster and she knew that she should unplug if from the supply before cleaning out the crumbs. But that meant pulling the plug from the wall and she was scared to handle the plug because electricity is dangerous.

So she levered the plug out of the socket with a knife.

Sure enough, she had her fears confirmed that electricity is indeed, dangerous.

She survived (and anyhow, it was too late, her genes had already been passed to me), but perhaps she is worthy of an honerable mention.

A self fulfilling prophecy?

With logic like that, it's hard to imagine how she survived this long. Different from other electricity submissions: I like it a lot as an HM.
