BANCROFT, Ont. (CP) _ Alcohol and a children’s battery-powered toy truck proved to be a fatal combination for a Bancroft man, local police say.<

Daniel Welsh, 45, had been riding the toy pickup down a hill while standing up and fell off hitting his head, police said Tuesday.<

He was pronounced dead in hospital following the incident early Sunday morning. <

Alcohol was a factor in the accident, said police in this city about 100 kilometres northeast of Peterborough.<
