Flag Pole Touches Power Line, Shocks Men
Posted: 3:49 p.m. EST November 15, 2002
HOMESTEAD, Fla. -- Two NASCAR fans are in critical condition after being shocked when a flagpole they were holding touched a power line.
The men were at Homestead-Miami Raceway for the Craftsman Truck series today.
The men were reportedly badly burned, one of them burned on more than 80 percent of his body.
The names of the men have not yet been released.
A friend and I were there and you really had to see it to believe it. The flag pole had to be 100 feet tall. They had parked their truck directly under the Primary Electrical Feed into the track. They should have had the two men alcohol tested, as the true race fan starts drinking around 6:00 am.(It has to be 12 Noon somewhere!)
