Electrical worms, anyone?

2003 Reader Submission
Pending Acceptance

It is a well known trick to put 12V electrodes into the ground to make worms come to the surface. Our 23 year old friend withdrew his genes form the pool one sunny day in August '02 trying to make a short cut in catching worms for a day fishing. He thought that 220 V 50 Hz would bring more worms out faster and tried out his theory. Alas, sitting on a stainless steel bucket holding one electrode in his one hand while the other lead was put into ground a few feet away is definately a way to enter the eternal fishing grounds quicker than you can say Hopalong Cassidy. Our man leaves only parents, no offspring, back by the earthly creek.

European power is much deadlier than the US variety. I thought that was common knowledge over there... oh, well.
