Just getting this one in early, before it breaks the news. Will follow up by posting full article when published on Friday 4th Oct.
A 25 year old man has died whilst attempting to jump between two multi-storey car parks in Maidenhead, Uk on 29 Sep 2002. Apparently he had been trying to emulate a recent TV advert screened on BBC TV where a man goes from office to home by leaping between buildings, over fences, around antenna, etc. The man in the advert is a highly trained athlete who I recollect originates from Paris. Indeed, they have even been the subject of a feature length movie. However, with this Darwin Award Nominee, the young man had failed to take into account one or two facts; he was neither highly trained or capable of carrying out this task, he could not have made the 20' gap and had failed to consider the results of hitting hard concrete from a height of 40'. The result was inevitable............ Submitted on 10/01/2002
