Lion Lunch

I am a Ranger and quite used to the stupidity of the public when confronted with wild animals but this one takes the biscuit.
My daughter has recently returned from working in the Kruger National Park in South Africa and brought back a tale told to her by the Rangers there. The Park authorities are paranoid about warning people not to leave their cars whilst within the park boundaries. All roads into the place have signs to that effect and every car driver is handed a leaflet with that warning as they enter.
A tourist driving through the park saw a family group of a lioness and her cubs sitting by the side of the road. She told her husband, who was driving, to stop whilst she took a picture through the car window. He recalls that the cubs would not pose correctly for the perfect picture so she decided just to nip out of the car 'for a moment', pick up one of the cubs and arrange it beside it's siblings for the ideal photo opportunity.
Needless to say the lioness shared her with the cubs. Submitted on 09/26/2002
