David Mason, 53, from Glasgow apparently attempting a movie-like stunt, caused his own death in the mountains of Italy. Using a mountain climbers snap hook, he attached himself to an unused cable car cable. Then he proceeded to launch himself off, seeking a thrill by riding the cable down the mountain by the force of gravity. Unable to control his decent rate, Mason was battered against rocks and then a metal support pole. Mason was DOA when airlifted to hospital. Mason has already reproduced, and his 18 year old son was present for the stunt, which was part of their Italian holiday together. Submitted on 09/09/2002
