A 23-year-old Vancouver man died early Thursday morning after he fell out of a mini-van while trying to throw rocks at residents’ properties.
John Reynolds was dead on the scene after dying of head trauma when deputies arrived at the 12800 block of NW 36th Avenue in the Clark County, Wash.
Reynolds and four other occupants of the Ford Aerostar minivan were throwing rocks at mailboxes and cars as they drove along the area from Klineline Park to 36th Avenue, said Sgt. Melonie Kenoyer, a spokesman for the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
To better throw rocks at his targets, Reynolds decided to open the sliding door of the minivan, driven by 24-year-old Tara Broon. But as he threw the rock, Reynolds fell from the minivan, hitting his head on the pavement.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide unit is continuing to to investigate. Anyone whose car or mailbox was hit can call the sheriff’s office West Precinct at (360) 397-6079 to file a report.
