How to fly in your car

On 3:27 A.M. August 8 two Detroit police officers began to pursue a stolen Chrysler Concorde the wrong way down a one-way street in Detroit. The car stopped and one man, a passenger, got out and fled on foot. He was the smart one. However, the other criminal sped off, followed by police, and soon found himself at the end of the road--the street didn't go any farther. In front of him was a chain-link fence, after which were the eight lanes of Interstate 75. He decided to lose the police for good and make his escape.
He continued driving at about 100 miles an hour, shot through the chain link fence, and flew straight over eight lanes of southbound traffic on the highway. He then landed on a southbound semi truck, bounced off, flew over the other four lanes, and crashed into the northbound wall. After flying in his car for 170 feet, he smashed into the wall and died instantly.
One police officer said, "It's amazing. It must have been quite a sight."
When you trust your Concorde to fly, you should be sure what kind of Concorde it is, first. Submitted on 08/14/2002
