Well, he lived, but I'm sure we can expect more from this person.
A Tacoma man new to the extreme sport of BASE jumping (the parachuting off of fixed structures), received a hard lesson in the importance of planning, when he attempted to parachute off of the wrong bridge. Todd Pelissier, 22 is being treated at Legacy Emanuel Hospital for injuries to his head, lungs, and spine.
David Bodine, Cowlitz county undersherif said that Pelissier dropped less than 100 feet from the Toutle River bridge. He had intended to jump from the Hoffstadt Creek bridge, which crosses the same river, but does so 370 feet above the water. Submitted on 07/16/2002
