Circular sore

This is a story told at a symposium dinner
by two Austrian pathologists who work together in Germany. A man was brought to them for a post mortem after receiving severe head wounds. According to police reports, the man wanted to see how a German world war two hand grenade was constructed. In order to do this, he clamped the hand grenade in a vice and attempted to thinly cut around the centre of the grenade with a circular saw and then crack open the two halves. Unfortunately, the man went a little too deep with the saw and detonated the grenade. According to the pathologists, the man had very little brain material when he was brought to them, however, they were not sure if that was a result of the explosion!Submitted on 07/12/2002
