Unsafety-pins

This is one of those friend of a friend thigs so i can't exactly verify anything. Although impossible to verify this is too good to pass up. I got this from a teacher describing one of her late freinds.
The hero of our story, lets call him bob, had a penchant for two rather extreme sports, skydiving and motorcycle riding. It was in fact the combination of these two that would bring about his demise.
Bob would often take excursions to his local drop zone on his motorcycle. Due to the lack of cargo space available on his bike bob would usually just wear his parachute on his back. Of course bob was safety concious and did not want his parachute opening accidentally while he was on the highway; after all this would create quite the grsly traffic accident. To prevent this Bob would use a common household safety-pins to prevent the opening of his parachute.
This tactic worked well for quite some time up until one fateful day. Bob met his predictable demise on the tarmac. Rescues sent to provide aid found that both his main and reserve chutes had been pulled. The parachute deployment however never occured due to the safety-pins holding the parachute closed.
