High Price For Sugar

My driver told me this:
My driver comes from the sugar producing province of Negros, in the Philippines. I've been there once, and trucks laden with sugar cane stalks are a common sight in this province. My driver told me that his friend came up with a plan to get some sugar cane stalks without paying for them.
The guy wrapped some rope around his waist, then, he fastened one end of the rope to an electric wire pole. On the other end, he placed a grappling hook. He waited on the street until a sugar cane truck passed by. He then proceeded to try to hook the grappling hook to the truck, in the hope that the hook would break the ropes holding the sugar cane, thereby spilling the sugarcane on the street. However, the hook did not break the rope, and the truck went forward towards its destination. The poor man was split in half and he died on the spot. Submitted on 06/19/2002
