Hello Darwin. What about this one?
13/06/02
Rothbury,
Northumberland,
England
A tree surgeon managed to exit this life by setting fire to the fir tree he was strapped to.
Exerpt from the local newspaper report:
A spokeswoman for Northumbria Fire and Rescue service said "It appears the tree surgeon was taking some branches down and throwing them onto a small fire beneath. A branch appears to have hit the fire and became propped up against the tree, which caused it to burst into flame quite quickly".
Firemen believe the man had been using a climbing harness and would have been strapped to the tree, although his body was found on the ground.
A doctor pronounced the unnamed man dead at the scene. Cause of death - severe burns and/or asphyxia.
