Man falls 90 ft to his death from window.
A man fell 90 feet to hids death from his tenth floor flat after dangling from the window ledge, it emerged yesterday. Paul Cummings, a silk screen printer, lowered himself out as part of a prank. But the 32 yr old - originally from Dundee, Scotland - could not get back into his home in Southend, Essex.
A friend desperately tried to haul him back inside as he clung onto the ledge by his fingertips. But the friend could not hold on and Mr Cummings slipped from his grasp and fell to the ground suffering fatal injuries.
A police spokesman said "For some reason, he was messing about and got out of the window to hang on the ledge. He lost his grip and fell to his death despite his friend's valiant efforts to hold onto his arms" Submitted on 06/13/2002
